Georgia DPS Limousine Carrier Certificate
- Required for any prearranged for-hire passenger transportation in Georgia.
- Proof of insurance must be on file.
- 12 or fewer passengers: $100,000 / $300,000 bodily injury and $50,000 property damage.
- More than 12 passengers: $100,000 / $500,000 bodily injury and $50,000 property damage.
USDOT Number & Federal Authority
- A USDOT number is required for vehicles designed to carry more than 8 passengers, including the driver.
- In-state only: Georgia-issued USDOT number. Crossing state lines: federal USDOT number from FMCSA.
- Interstate for-hire carriers also need FMCSA operating authority and a federal insurance filing ($1.5M for 15 or fewer seats; $5M for 16+).
- Annual GIMC or UCR registration.
